Prezi
This presentation is about one of the most popular tourist spots in Chicago called Chicago Architecture Foundation. This includes the history of the place, some interesting facts about the place and how it was built. We also got a chance to interview two people and got a lot of knowledge from them. One is Ms. Debra, an employee in CAF, and Ms. Shirley, who is a tourist from Toronto. Here, you can learn the differences between popular culture and high culture.
Food
In this reading, I realized it’s actually true that people get addicted watching food television show because they might have been missed some home-cooked meals and family gathering. I also realized how important the kitchen is, not only for cooks, but for the viewers as well. It captures viewer’s’ attention by its colorful banquet and people can also get an idea of what kind of kitchen to get in the future. The most interesting part is when the author mentioned how people get engaged in watching food television show, as if they know how to cook. People don’t really care about what’s going on, they are just looking at the moment where they can accidentally say the words “oohs” and “aahs” while looking at the food.
Movie
Alice in Wonderland is a movie that will, for sure, help you manage your personal growth, challenge your creativity, be specific about what you want to achieve, and follow the advice you gave to yourself. Alice deals with being big and small, experiences ups and downs, and felt confident with herself. I also noticed how she was able to solve problems in her own way. She also learned about the importance of knowing what she wants and make sure to follow the advice she gave to herself. I highly recommend this to everyone. Alice in Wonderland is full of hopes and can deliver moral lessons to the viewers. It can be something you’ve never heard of before. I’m sure everyone will relate to this and will enjoy the whole movie.

Music
I’ve been engaged to R&B since I was 13. I’m the type of
person who installs mellow songs in my iPod and listens to them the whole day.
Listening to R&B helps me forget about stress, problems, and can somewhat
escape to reality. I’m also the type of person who listens to old songs because
I still believe that even if how old a song is, its own meaning will never fade
away. I adore Stevie Wonder for being so talented in spite of being blind since
birth. He composed bazillion of songs and made them all popular from then until
now. My favorite song of Stevie Wonder is You Are the Sunshine of My Life. The
song pretty much explains how love is important love is for everyone.

Cultural Identity
My poster is a
mixture of places, events, and people that influenced me for the past eighteen
years. It's my pleasure to introduce to you some trendy trademarks in my
country, which is The Philippines.
I included one of the most popular public transportations that Filipinos use
and it's called "Jeepney".
There is also a picture of a main Filipino dish which is Adobo. The Philippines is also ranked as one of the most beautiful
lands on earth by having massive of tourist spots that people literally love to
visit, one of them is the Boracay, Island. Some pictures are the
events and people that influenced me in such a good way, which were the reason
why I am here today.
Pop Culture
I can honestly say that migrating to the US helped me
develop some things that I did not have the guts to do before. When I studied
in high school here, I got influenced by so many people around me. I started
performing in front of the crowd. It helped me boost my self-esteem, made a lot
of friends and started communicating to other people without having second
thoughts. I also got influenced to fashion trends in the US. From that, I
started creating a fashion blog and got used in dressing up nicely and
presentable. But in spite of all those positive outcomes, I can’t really say
that I am already immune in American popular culture. I noticed how I can still
manage to reject some things that American got used to do. This can look normal
for them, but can also be different for any other cultures. I noticed how some
teenagers do illegal things, how some people spend the whole night with their
friends without going back home, sneaking in class, being disrespectful and
disobeying their parents. Those are the things that I will never apply to
myself because I don’t want to just take all the hard works of my parents away
and start my own life without having more knowledge about the things around the
world. In this class, I learned a lot about advantages and disadvantages of people living in America. This unit helped me become more open minded and change my point of views in a good way. Starting from learning about diversity changing in America to listening to the songs that have its own meaning, I can honestly say that my knowledge got enhanced better that I expected. First, I learned the differences between Salad Bowl and Melting Pot, Globalization and Americanization, and of course, the differences of each culture. I also got the chance to understand some narrative essays from different people, which made me relate to their own stories. In this unit, it was also my pleasure to share my very own cultural identity and honored to know each and everyone's culture. These informations made me look forward for more facts and ideas in the near future.
